Aaron Finbloom is a philosopher, performance artist, and pedagogue, founder/director of The Deep Play Institute, and co-founder/former-director of The School of Making Thinking (SMT), an artist/thinker residency program and experimental college. His work involves designing performative “conversation pieces” for transformative inquiry that seek to aesthetically expand the scope of philosophical, academic and psychotherapeutic pedagogies.  Finbloom has presented these works internationally at conferences, symposiums, exhibitions and theaters which include: The School of the Art Institute (Chicago), Gallery 151 (New York), Maschinenhaus Kulturbrauerei (Berlin), UNAM (Mexico City), and MainLine Theatre and The Darling Foundry (Montreal).  The scores of such works have been published in multiple platforms including “Propositional Attitudes” (Golden Spike Press) a book of performance scores which showcased at The Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago.  His research into philosophical-performative pedagogies has been published in journals including Performance Research and TENOR: Technological of Music Notation and Representation and Language, Literature, and Interdisciplinary Studies.  Finbloom currently teaches philosophy at City College (NY) and University of Portland (OR).  He has a PhD in Interdisciplinary Humanities from Concordia University (Montreal) and an M.A. in Philosophy and Art from SUNY Stony Brook.
